The yacht SawLeeAh, skippered by Rod
Caple, took out line honors in the Mieco Beach Yacht Club race, which was
held under near-perfect conditions last Sunday afternoon.
SawLeeAh, which was helmed by Dar Farrell, also won the race on handicap,
having completed the course in two hours and 23 minutes.
Second place in the race went to Po'Oino Roa (Jerry McGraw), third to Seal
(Cary Evarts), fourth to Content (Mike Raymond), and fifth to Piet Heyn
(William Nichols).
The race was monitored by the club’s race committee, headed by Joe McCarthy,
on the Royal Australian Navy boat True Blue.
All the skippers and a couple of lucky crew won some great prizes, including
accommodation and meals at the Marshall Islands Resort, which doubles as the
sporting organization's club house.
The next and last race of the season will be held as part of the March 24
Coconut Cup Regatta.
